What’s in our Name and Logo?

When we completed our business plan, the next immediate thing is we want to come up with a name, few things we fixed in our mind before we come up with a name

  1. The name should be a clear reflection of what we do -Our vision
  2. Easy to pronounce, we intentionally not to go with coining new words
  3. Last but not the least the domain name availability either dotcom /.in/.biz without any extension to the name in the URL

We dint took any longer, the names we discussed are

  1. GrowthWorks
  2. GreatWorks
  3. SalesWorks
  4. SalesSphere

The contention is between SalesWorks and GreatWorks ,We narrowed down to GreatWorks since it sounds positive easy to spell and call.

Our name communicates the following

  1. GreatWorks intention is to empower people through our training and coaching sessions
  2. Salespeople and sales jobs has a negative connotation in the market , we want to change the perception with a name exactly opposite to that
  3. Everyone we touch should become a GreatWorker.

With this intention the name is formed.

Logos:

Logos are important to a brand’s identity. They give a symbol to be recognized by our customers and attached to our brand without even the need to know its name.

Some thoughts behind the process:

We wanted to achieve few things with the new logo:

  1. Add a subtle hint at the essence of the business, and
  2. Keep the simplicity

We wanted to have a element in our name, after done a bit of contemplation with different logo types we decided to leave the idea of having a logo element, a bit tough decision after doing some work around it but back to our minimalist approach we preferred to keep the name alone with typography that has given a lot of freedom in our design work in all formats.
